Join us for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, hosted by the International Student Program.

What is Cha-do?

Come take part in a beautiful ceremony called Chanoyu, Cha-do or simply O-cha. It is the traditional etiquette of preparing and serving Japanese green tea, along with Japanese sweets. Preparing tea in this ceremony involves the principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.  Furthermore, the process is not just about drinking tea. The ceremony focuses on the aesthetics of preparing a bowl of tea from one’s heart and sharing it with others.

Limited Availability

The Tea Ceremony has been fully booked. Guests are welcome to attend the lecture and observe the ceremony. Tea and sweets will be served to the first 20 participants who have RSVP’d only.

The Ceremony will be held in Annex Building (located adjacent to the College Center) in Suite C.
