What makes Coastline’s career center unique is the backwards planning approach. Instead of choosing a major and hoping there will be a job waiting for you after you graduate, we look at the job market to determine the demand for what you’re studying. We assess your strengths, skills, values, and interests and match it with potential occupations and majors that fit best. We plan for what experiences you will gain in addition to your education so you can gain valuable skills and increase your marketability after you graduate. We connect you with individuals in your field as these leads to letters of recommendations, professional references, and potential mentors. We have a philosophy of focusing on, not just having an education, but improving social mobility.
